My little girl went to the NC Zoo and had the misfortune of seeing a gorilla catch , skin and eat a bunny. When she got home our dog had killed a rabbit in the backyard but not eaten it. She was almost traumatized.
Dachshunds just don't give up. That's why they were named Field & Stream's most tenancious hunting dog.
I've seen Black Jack in action with other animals. Not saying he wouldn't get badly hurt in the process, but that's what they do.
The miniatures couldn't do it - they're bred more so for rabbits & foxes. The standards can.

LOVE the NC Zoo. go every year..more than once if possible. cooler months are the best.
